Give The Choir A Try While Learning From An Internationally Renowned Choir Director

We're hosting a one-time choir rehearsal and worship opportunity on March 3 and 4, and we’d love for you to be part! If you've ever wanted to sing with the NewSpring Kansas Worship Choir, this is your chance to give it a try and see if it's an area you'd like to volunteer in moving forward.

On Tuesday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m., we'll begin with quick, low-pressure choir auditions. Then, starting at 6:15 p.m., we'll rehearse with guest choir director Dr. Jim Whitmire. (Read more about his extraordinary list of accomplishments below.) Participants in this rehearsal will have the opportunity to sing with the choir at our First Wednesday: Night Of Worship on Wednesday, March 4.

Jim Whitmire

Dr. Jim Whitmire, a native of the Atlanta, Georgia area, serves as the instructor in music and worship at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. With over five decades of ministry, he served alongside Dr. Adrian Rogers at First Baptist Merritt Island and Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, later leading worship at First Baptist Jacksonville before joining the Mid-America faculty in 2013. Dr. Whitmire has led worship conferences worldwide, served on multiple hymnal committees, directed choirs across the U.S. and internationally, produced large-scale worship productions, and directed Handel’s Messiah annually at Mid-America since 1986.  

At this event, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Whitmire and benefit from his choir expertise.
