CONNECT FAQ'S

What is Connect?
Connect is an environment where adults come to build authentic friendships and get connected. Connect gatherings consist of a large group of people who meet together ten times over the course of three months. During a Connect night, connection is the focus. The first 30 minutes revolve around connection, including food, conversation, etc. The next portion of the night involves more structured interaction. Each night, programming is different, with possible use of a DVD clip, a trivia game, a service opportunity, etc. We also have the gathering break into smaller groups of six to eight people to have more conversation around the topic at hand, guided by discussion questions that are provided for them. This creates the feel of a small group and, hopefully, encourages people to have deeper conversations and create greater connection.

How does Connect work?
Connect gatherings meet ten times over the course of three months. There will be nights giving you the opportunity to experience being in a small group, and nights giving you the opportunity to connect socially. The gatherings meet on various nights for about two hours and are led by a team of volunteer Connect Facilitators.

Each Connect cycle begins in the months of January, April and September. (See the exact dates on our Married and Not Married group pages.)

How do I get involved?
You can register for Connect online. (If you're not married, register here. If you're married, register here.) After you sign up, we will place you in a gathering based on your age and stage of life. A Connect Facilitator will contact you before the gathering with the location and details. You can also take advantage of a greater opportunity to connect by indicating you are interested in volunteering by clicking the appropriate box on the registration form.

Are there people in my age range or stage of life that are part of Connect?
Yes! (This, of course, depends on who signs up each cycle.) We have Connect gatherings for Married & Not Married. We even take that a step further, and strategically place you with people in the same stage of life as you.

Where do Connect gatherings meet?
Each Connect gathering takes place in different locations. Currently, most will be located in various rooms on the NewSpring campus. In the future, we’d love the ability to meet in homes around the Wichita area (giving us a more relaxed atmosphere). The Connect gatherings last around two hours and are led by a trained volunteer Connect Facilitator Team. If you would consider opening up your home for a Connect gathering (or want more information on what that would look like) please email Megan Hopper at .

What are the upcoming dates for Connect?

Why is Connect cyclical?
We see the benefit of a Connect gathering starting and stopping after a three-month cycle. This allows new people to jump in at the beginning of a cycle and begin to connect with other new attendees, as well as those who are already part of our church. The start and stop of each cycle gives everyone a chance for a fresh start with new and energized leaders and fresh faces for connection. The new energy each cycle creates is a great benefit to those attending.
